Hi I'm James Sarmiento

I was born and raised in California. I am Filipino, Chinese, and half white. I recently went to school in BYU-Idaho.

About Me

Before I was born my parents met in San Francisco. My father is half Filipino and half Chinese. I love to play sports like lacrosse, football, basketball, and soccer. My mom is white. I had started school last semester in BYU-Idaho. I am a 19 year old who just got my mission call to San Pablo, Philippines. I am a eager young man who is ready to share my wonderful experiences and beliefs I have learned over the years! I will be learning Tagalog and be serving for a full two years.

Why I am a Mormon

Imagine the times where you are in your bed. Around your room it is cold to were you would be miserable if you didn't have a blanket. Imagine being blindfolded and having to go through a maze with people telling you the right path. Then imagine it with people telling you the wrong way to were whenever you turn you walk into a wall or dead end. With these objects like a blanket for warmth and with people there to guide you to the right direction. This is how our church is while the world is a cold place were people tell you wrong information leading you to wrong paths and dead ends. I have seen friends in both positions, I have parents who have been in both positions too. Alone i have received the blanket of warmth and I have wonderful people in my life who have led me on the right path. With the church in my 19 years of life I have been able to see how much Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have had an affect in it. The major difference I have seen between happiness and sadness really had a impact with my life. With this happiness I have chosen to serve as a missionary to help spread the word of this church. I want to help to be a voice that leads people in the right path and help be the blanket of warmth. I know this church is true. I know Heavenly Father lives. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us and will always be there for us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I have been given the calling to be a ward missionary. What I get to do is serve as a missionary in my ward where I help serve others with service and I also teach every second Sunday to investigators and share with them lessons.
