Hi I'm KelCey Hatch

I'm a Stuttering Missionary serving in the Idaho Boise Mission and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Idaho Boise Mission and it is a blast! The people out here are amazing and I could not think of a better place to be right now! Being a stutter all of my life, I have always been hesitant to speak my mind but I now have come to the knowledge that it is just a part of me. I love it! It's a huge part of me and has allowed me to connect with some many people from around the world that I wouldn't have without this huge blessing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was born into the church. My parents were, too. I believe God has placed us in whatever situation that he knows that we would accept his gospel. For me, I learned through my family but I haven't always be as faithful to the church as I am now. My years in high school, I really struggled and grew farther away. I grew to the point where I went to my meetings just to please my parents but I disliked every minute of it. Halfway through my senior year, my seminary teacher gave us a challenge. If we had a question that we sincerely wanted answered we should read our scriptures that night. I thought "Why not?" and really wanted to know about the truth of this church. I was praying and reading in the Book of Mormon one night and something happened. I didn't find an answer in the words I was reading but I had this overwhelming feeling come over me that I can't describe. I know my story is cliche but it was what I needed. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is God's true church, without a single doubt in my mind. I have done my best to live the laws of the gospel to the best of my ability since that time and have loved every minute of it. It has not been easy but I continue to believe in the greatness of God and the Restored Gospel of Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. I served in my Young Single Adult Relief Society Presidency (a group for the women in our church) and that has helped me to really see the needs of others around me. I try to serve the women around me (and the guys, as well) to the best of my ability. I have and still do love working with all the beautiful women I've come in contact with and have learned so much from their stories and examples. I believe that they have helped me beyond what I've done for them. I a serving a full time mission for my church at the moment and I love the people of Boise, Idaho! Sharing the gospel is the only true way someone can fully show their appreciation for it.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

KelCey Hatch
I can't imagine my life without my family. I love them. We fight, argue and who knows what else but I wouldn't trade them for anything. The family is the central part of God's plan. That is why we call him 'Heavenly Father' and we, his children. While we cannot choose the circumstances of our birth and the trials we face, it is all for a purpose. We can choose how to live each day and choose to live it happily and to serve others. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

KelCey Hatch
If you found the best thing in the world, wouldn't you want to share it with everyone you met? That's why I have volunteered to serve for 18-months as a LDS missionary. I truly have found the greatest thing the world has ever seen. I like to think of what Peter said as to "be ready always to give ban answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope" (1 Pet. 3:15). My hope is through the restored gospel of Christ.
