Hi I'm DeWayne Jackson

I am father of four children, and a grandfather to 13 grandchildren. I grew up in Salt Lake City and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, sports and computers. My hobby is photography, biking, bowling, hiking, river running and golf. I enjoy all phases of technology and spend time learning new ways to do things. One of my hobbies is to take pictures of sporting events with my grandchildren and make sports posters using Photoshop and other photo editing software.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it best explains where we came from, why we are here in this mortal existence and where we go after death. Even though we are unable to see back to our pre-mortal existence, I know we have a loving Father in Heaven who knows each of us personally and wants us to return back into His presence. He did not leave us alone, he gave each of us wise parents, he gave each of us good teachers, he gave each of us good friends, and above all he gave us all a Savior who taught by example and atoned for each of our sins. This gives me comfort in my life.

How I live my faith

In my Church I have had many opportunities for development. In my earlier years, I worked with the youth which allowed me to be with my sons and daughters as they were growing up. We helped the youth be better prepared for adulthood. Most activities, we provided shadow leadership as they planned trips and activities. One of the most memorable trips was when we took ten young men on a 50 mile hike through the wilderness in northeastern Utah. They built their own backpacks, purchased military shelter halves and rolled the personal belongings and food inside. What a great experience. As I got older, I had many opportunities to work with adults in various capacities. I am so thankful for the opportunities I had and how it helped me in life.
