Hi I'm Sheila

I grew up in Hillspring, Alberta and spent many a day riding my horse and enjoying friends.

About Me

I am a grandma and love to spoil my grandchildren. My husband and I have been married 50 wonderful years and we have shared our work, our play and our faith together as equal partners. Aside from my family I love to camp in our RV and go to places where it is warm in the winter time. I'm a bargain shopper and love to go to garage sales. I love to cook and entertain, although my husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, he tolerates my obsession with trying out new recipes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents were, and their parents were and so I grew up going to church and attending the many activities in my youth. When my husband and I courted and planned to marry it was with the expectation that we would marry in the temple so we could be together forever. Once married and raising our children, we taught them as we had been taught. One of life's great pleasures is seeing your family follow in the mould you tried to build as they were growing up. I am a Mormon because I have felt the warmth of the Spirit testify that the things I believed were true. I find comfort and solace in attending my meetings, going to the temple, and reading the scriptures. I have a firm conviction in life after death and it warms my heart to know that I have the opportunity to see and be with loved ones again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through prayer and attendance at my meetings. I support my husband and family in any church activity. I have had the unique privilege of acting as secretary to our stake patriarch and it has strengthened my faith to see the great blessings that lie ahead for those that remain faithful in the gospel. My forte is not teaching so I have immersed myself in compassionate service to others, having served in that calling for 14 years.
