Hi I'm Tania

I'm fluent in Spanish, English, Chinese, and awkward glances. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a lover of food, sunshine, latin dancing, yoga, loud colors, and hugging everyone I meet. I recently graduated from college to become a social worker. I have always been very driven. I earned my associate's degree when I was 17 in an effort to get ahead and earn scholarships. When I was finally in a position to pursue everything I believed I had always wanted, I ended up volunteering in a respite for children who had been abused and neglected. This experience shifted my paradigm, removed me from my comfort zone, and ultimately changed my life. This is where I learned that life really is unfair, and that the only thing I have control over in my life is the way I chose to take things as they come. Young people believe they are invincible. Working in a helping profession has been humbling, and I know now, more than ever, that the only constant direction I have in my life is God and that we can all be healed through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, is because I prayed to know that these things are true. From the time my mother's friend first dragged me to church, to when I met with the missionaries, to the time I became a full-time missionary myself, I prayed, I prayed, and I prayed for answers. I prayed for a surety that this church is true. I have felt the power and reality of Jesus Christ and His atonement several times throughout my life. I know it's true! Nothing in my life brings me greater joy than this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to honor my baptismal covenants: to always remember Christ and keep God's commandments. I love meeting new people, so naturally, I enjoy helping the missionaries and teaching non-member families with them. I am Latina and I LOVE to dance! I love going out dancing with friends, sometimes even in the same buildings where we meet for church the next morning!

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

For many people of a different faith, the claim that Christ appeared and ministered in the Americas is hard to accept. This doctrine is taught in no other faith. However, reading the Book of Mormon cover-to-cover cemented my faith in this truth. I feel connected to the men who wrote their accounts in this book, and I know that they lived and they knew Christ.
