Hi I'm Shaylee

I live in the Rockies. I love reading, riding, and country music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have one little sister, and a wonderful mom and daddy. I am a straight A student, and plan to go to college. I like to read, and do so constantly. In the summer, I love to ride and herd our cows. I enjoy spending time with my family as well. I love spending time with my family and going over to my Grandma's house for dinner every Sunday after church. We get to talk about what happened during our week.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith, and sometimes take it for granted. I'm not perfect, but, through repentance, I can be eventually. I'm so glad that the church gives us doctrine that is true and good. I also believe that being a Mormon helps me to live a better life.

How I live my faith

Even though I'm young, I still try to help my ward. I help the younger members of my young women's group and sometimes lead the music we sing. We have service projects frequently to help those in our ward and community who are feeling down or having a hard time. I also try to dress modestly, and act how my Father in Heaven and Christ would want me to.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We perform proxy baptisms to give those who were baptized without proper authority or have not had the opportunity while they were alive. God has made it possible for all people to receive the blessings that come from baptism. Proxy baptisms are performed on behalf of those who have died. Those deceased ancestors in the next life can then choose to accept of decline what has been done in their behalf. Show more Show less
