Hi I'm Simon

I am a husband and a father of four. I work and live in the South West of England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father to four young children. I am a trainee solicitor training at a large regional firm in the South West of England. If I do have the luxury of having some spare time I enjoy following the fortunes of my football team and wargaming. I try to keep up my German and French. I also enjoy reading. I enjoy biographies of historical figures and science fiction when I need something fluffy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taken to church ever since I was little. I remember being asked as an 8 year old by a teacher at church to pray and ask if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. When I did so, I felt for the first time in my life that I had an answer to prayer. This knowledge greatly blessed my life when I made those difficult life defining choices in my teenage years about who I wanted to be. I am so grateful for what Jesus Christ has done for me. I am glad that I can repent and be forgiven for mistakes that I constantly make. In Christ I also have an example of how to live my life. I am grateful to have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, which privilege we receive after baptism. The Holy Ghost guides me in all aspects of my life. It also comforts me during difficult times.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a leader in my local congregation. I have a special opportunity to provide counsel to people with weighty personal problems. I oversee the general welfare of the members of the congregation ensuring the the poor and needy are cared for. I also oversee the work of the ward council, which works to build the spiritual strength and unity of the congregation.
