Hi I'm Jed O.

I love sports, debate, music, family, and our Father in Heaven. I am currently serving in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida mission!

About Me

Like I said, I love being active and speaking, as well as my family and the Church. I played football for six years and now I coach my younger brother's team with my father. I threw javelin in high school. I wrote speeches as my debate event. I am a singer and a songwriter for the guitar and piano and hope to be able to publish and record my music when I return from my mission. I am the oldest child of four. My sister was adopted from Ecuador. I am a licensed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. I work for my father as an apprentice electrician. I am currently serving our Father in Heaven as a missionary in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida mission!

Why I am a Mormon

With a good portion of my immediate family having left the church, it can be discouraging at times. However, I cannot deny what I have felt in my heart. Not only does the Gospel of Jesus Christ feel right, it is logical as well. Often times it can seem difficult to obey all of the teachings and remain truly convicted and converted of Christ, I like to think to myself where I would be without the Church in my life. In all honesty, the Church provides me with more happiness than i ever have while doing the things I like to do. I love pondering what it will be like when our Savior return to earth, and then what it will be like returning to our Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for the Gospel and the Church and all that it has done for my life. I absolutely love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Finally here in the mission! I have been having such incredible experiences here in Florida as well. I have held presidency positions in my priesthood groups. I love bearing my testimony and feel that every time I do, it is strengthened. Currently my mother and one of my brothers are inactive in the Church. They were at one point in time fully active. Although it is very sad to have seen them leave the Church and to watch them as they struggle to find answers as to who they are, my love for them continues to grow regardless of their beliefs. I pray everyday for guidance on what to do and what to say so that I can be edified of Christ, thereby being an example to those around me, including my family. I hope that by serving a mission I can be that example to them. I wish I could share with everyone around me the true love that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has to offer, and the happiness it brings. I have been so blessed in my life and I know it is because I have a loving Father in Heaven watching over me as do all of us, His children. I love you all my brothers and sisters.
