Hi I'm Kristin Bassett

I love making music music, ballroom dancing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to ballroom dance. I was on a touring team for a year then taught a salsa dance class while I was going to Cosmetology school. Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. I grew up listening to old western, blues, top 40's and everything in between so I have quite the variety of taste. I play the piano and guitar and some of my best memories are with my Dad in our basement working on a song I just wrote or just something for fun. Being an aunt is one of the best things you can be in life and I get to have two adorable nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel gives me the light to see in such a dark world. There has never been a time where I've felt sad, alone, or scared and couldn't be comforted by the Holy Ghost! Reading the Book of Mormon gives me a peace that nothing else in this world can. It's really hard for me to make big decisions, because I'm so indecisive, but because the Lord is with me I know that when I come to him with a question I never have to second guess the answer He gives me, because he loves me and only wants the best for.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving an 18 month mission. I get to dedicate myself 24/7 to the Lord and helping those around me come closer to him. Every day I'm out on the street looking for those who are searching for the truth. I try to help them build their faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also get to serve in the different communities that I've been able to live in as a missionary. Doing service brings so much joy and happiness in your life, just knowing that you did something good for someone else!

What is faith?

Kristin Bassett
My favorite scripture on faith is found in the Book of Mormon in Alma 32:21. It says that faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things, but you hope for things which are not seen that are true. Faith is more than just a belief in God, but you trust Him. You have confidence in Him and you are willing to act on that belief in him. Faith is action. When you exercise your faith it grows stronger, but when you do not not it becomes weak and fragile. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Kristin Bassett
Families are the most important social unit in the Church. Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with families, because that's where we learn and grow the most. We learn how to love, serve, and teach. Another important aspect is that you have that support group to go through triumphs and trails. Here children can feel loved, be provided for, and be taught what is right and what is wrong. A home that is based on gospel principle (faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end) can be a place of safety and refuge to all who enter into their home.
