Hi I'm Sarah

I'm an avid reader. I love The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school about a year ago and am about to serve in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. I love to read and I love the great classics such as the works of the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen. I love analyzing what I read and sharing my thoughts and feelings and the lessons I learned from the text. I've spent my life in Idaho Falls and love the snow, although I'm always excited when spring comes and it all melts. I have two brothers and two sisters and phenomenal parents who are still deeply in love over 20 years later.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. For the first decade or so of my life, it was just something I did and it was expected of my parents. And then I decided I wanted to know for myself. So I began listening more in Sunday school and in Sacrament Meeting. I began habits of prayer and scripture reading. There were no lightning bolts nor an overwhelming feeling. Just bit by bit, day by day, week by week, I began to believe and then know for myself that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I am a Mormon because I learned it for myself.

How I live my faith

It's more than going through the motions. It's actually participating at church. Praying instead of saying prayers. Searching the scriptures instead of reading them. It's feeling the Holy Ghost there and following Its promptings. It's having a conviction of the doctrine and a profound love and gratitude for Jesus Christ. It's smiling and believing that the Lord has a plan even when times are hard and it seems like there's no way out. I try to live this way, although I often fall short and have need for repentance.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I believe many call Mormonism a cult because they do not understand our beliefs and what people do not they understand they fear and many lash out when unafraid. Also many have been led to believe that some of our beliefs are evil. Show more Show less
