Hi I'm Hunter

I grew up in Las Vegas. I served a mission in Spokane, Washington. I'm an engineering student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in 2013, where I played football as an offensive lineman. I am serving a mission in Spokane, Washington, after which I will attend college at BYU. I enjoy shooting, hunting, snowboarding, playing football, video games and the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with strong LDS roots, and I can not imagine what my life would be like without it. The knowledge of the restored gospel has been a comfort to me whenever I have faced any challenges. Knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who knows and cares about me wipes away all feelings of sadness and fear. I know that he wants me to be able to return and live with him once more and that he will strengthen me if I choose to live his gospel and endure to the end. Our Father in Heaven loves His children so much that he sacrificed His Only Begotten Son so that we can return to Him. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Savior, we can all be forgiven of our transgressions. All we must do is ask forgiveness for our mistakes and make our best effort to follow His commandments. This knowledge that all men can be forgiven and return to their Father in Heaven through obedience and that He loves all of us is why I am a Mormon. The teachings of this church have brought peace and happiness into my life. I am eternally grateful to my Father in Heaven for the blessing of having His gospel in my life, and I hope that I can bring many others to the same knowledge so that they can have the same happiness in theirs.

How I live my faith

I served as an assistant to the Bishop in my ward during my senior year of high school. I assisted him with the youth program for boys ages 16-18. I would coordinate our weekly activities, make sure that all of the young men were informed about what to bring and wear and when to arrive, and I would make sure the duties of the young men were fulfilled. We were responsible for blessing the sacrament, for bringing the sacrament to those who were ill or recovering from surgery and unable to attend church meetings, and for visiting the widows in our ward and providing them service, whether that was mowing a lawn, doing some heavy lifting, or just being somebody to chat with. I served a 2 year mission for the church, where I shared the message of the gospel and the happiness it brings with others full time, so that they could have the same light in their life that has blessed mine so much. I continue to live my faith by studying the gospel and praying to my Father in Heaven daily. I seek to serve others around me in small ways. I try to share the gospel with those that I meet.
