Hi I'm Josh

I am a Signal Processing Engineer with three kids. I enjoy playing board/card games with my wife.

About Me

I have been married for eight years. I have a five-year-old daughter, a two-year-old son, and a new baby. I like singing songs with my daughter and chasing her around the house. She loves to wrestle and "hop on pop." My son likes anything with a motor and loves being outside. I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and I currently working towards a Master's Degree, with an emphasis in signal processing. I'm one of those strange people who actually enjoys math, and I enjoy solving complex problems. Most of my free time lately has been spent playing board games and card games with my wife and friends. Some of our favorite games are Go, Agricola, Ticket to Ride, Dominion, and Netrunner.

Why I am a Mormon

My greatest happiness in life comes from my family. I believe that God's plan for me is that I can become more like Him, and that I can live with my family forever. The only way that I can achieve these goals is through the Lord Jesus Christ. Only He makes it possible for me to better myself through living His gospel. I know that Jesus is my personal Savior. I have felt His love for me in the good times and the bad. By gaining a broader perspective of God's plan for me, I am learning to appreciate even the trials in my life. Knowing that God loves and understands me personally makes all the difference. God speaks to us today on a global scale, and on a personal level, through revelation. He has called a living prophet to guide us, but we can also receive personal guidance from Him through the Holy Ghost. I believe that the Gift of the Holy Ghost and living prophets are both found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That's why I feel blessed to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a family, we set aside every Monday night as "Family Night." We spend this time singing, praying, reading the scriptures, and learning about gospel topics. We usually end by breaking out the crayons and coloring pictures of what we learned about. My daughter wishes that every night was family night because she really enjoys the time that we spend together as a family. I am also the Elders Quorum President in my ward. My most important responsibility is to make sure that members of the quorum are having their physical and spiritual needs met. One of the ways that I help with this is by overseeing the Home Teaching program. Members who are willing to accept an assignment visit other families and watch out for them. I am also a Home Teacher myself, which means that I have a few families in my care. Along with a companion, I visit them in their homes and get to know them and look for opportunities to serve them.
