Hi I'm Jacob

I am a convert from Wyoming, preparing to serve a full-time mission. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I recently graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's in Accounting. I'm 22 years old. I love playing and watching sports! I love to play baseball, basketball, and golf. I am a convert, and I was baptized May 2012. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission in Atlanta. I moved from Michigan right before my Sophomore year of high school. It was rough on me trying to find friends, but I did and they helped introduce me to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was very reluctant to attend church or mutual, but then I thought why not? So I attended one Sunday and it has changed my life. I have seen the blessings from being a part of His church, and I know that everyone can receive these blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but it was so comforting to learn that my Heavenly Father loves me despite all of my shortcomings, that his love is infinite and unconditional. That Heavenly Father has a plan for me so that I can have everlasting happiness. I have felt so welcome in the church and my ward family has become a second family. I am thankful for my many trials that give me the chance to progress, learn, and become closer to my Heavenly Father. However, I am very thankful for the happiness the church brings into my life and I am thankful for the opportunity that I have to help others partake of that happiness through my calling and the opportunity to serve a mission. I am thankful for the Book of Mormon as well as the Prophet Joseph Smith and his contribution to His church in these latter days. Finally, I am thankful for everyone who takes the time to read this with the real intent to learn of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and desire to become like them. I know without any doubt that our Heavenly Father loves us all with a pure, unconditional love. I know that by following the commandments that God has given us that we will be blessed. I know that the Book of Mormon is the most true of all books on Earth today. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that we have a prophet on Earth today and that he receives revelation from Heavenly Father to help us in these latter days. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of all mankind. He suffered so much that he atoned for all of the sins of mankind. I know these things with the help of the Holy Ghost, which testifies of truth.

How I live my faith

I love to volunteer and to serve around my community. I receive no greater satisfaction than helping others. I was a ward missionary which means that I helped the missionaries teach their lessons to people who are investigating the church. I also assist in teaching the recently baptized. Currently, I am an executive secretary for the Bishop. I set up his meetings with the members in our ward. Starting in June, I will be a full-time missionary for the Church. I will spend all of my time devoted to the Gospel and teaching others about it.
