Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Illinois. I swam in high school and college. Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Math Minor. I was a member and Captain of the SIU Men's swim team and hold school and conference records. I love to play guitar, banjo, and to write music in my free time. I also love art, mostly drawing and painting. I also love Do It Yourself projects and repair projects around the house. I participated and graduated from the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout and still actively participate in service projects as often as I can. I love to stay active and participate in as many sports or activities as I can, such as basketball, ultimate Frisbee, and racquetball.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and throughout my life have been surrounded by the gospel. Through my personal trials and challenges, the church and the members thereof have always helped me and guided me to be the best person I can be. Through these obstacles I have developed a deep love and appreciation for all that our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me with, and all that he continues to bless me with as I keep the covenants I have made.

How I live my faith

I love to participate in ward activities, and community service projects that are organized through the church. Being able to serve next to others who have the same values and love for God is an enriching experience. Although I currently do not have a calling, when I do receive them, I love the responsibility and the opportunity to help others in learning and personal gain in the church.
