Hi I'm Sarah Hunter

I am the eldest of seven children, I am a quilter and I am now a wife and a mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eldest of seven children and loved being part of a busy and full home. I am a wife and mother of one (at the moment!). I am a medical secretary for the NHS and have loved working for different charities namely Deafblind UK, The Neuro Foundation and the RNIB to name a few. I love to quilt and be creative and I love to share my talents with others. I think the most noble calling for me is being a Mother - my daughter is my miracle and I am so grateful for her.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I only have to open my eyes to see the beauty that is around me and feel my Heavenly Father's presence in everything I do. When I am sad or struggling I feel the Saviour's loving arms around me, when I cry unto Him, I know with all my heart he is right by my side. This past year I have lost my brother-in-law and experienced personal loss whilst trying to have another child. I think of the atonement and the sacrifice that the Lord made for me and the pain he felt in Gethsemane shows me that He understands my pain, my heartache and my loss. Through his sacrifice he has paved a way for us to be united, resurrected and made whole again free from illness, heartache, pain and the misery that we sometimes bring upon ourselves. I rejoice in the knowledge that My Lord has a plan for me, He knows me by name and loves me so much that he allows me to go through these trials so that it can shape me into a better person. I know that through Jesus Christ, I can be with my family again for eternity. That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith one step at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day and the Lord doesn't expect us to understand all that he has in store for us all at once. When I am in the midst of a trial I try to look around me and see who I can serve. My problems are usually put right back into perspective.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Sarah Hunter
I believe that if we put Christ at the centre of our lives, then as a family you have a great focus. To be Christlike is to be kind, patient, forgiving, honest, charitable and so much more. This is what I hope to teach my children. It's the best example of love and if we as a married couple or family unit focus on these points I know that we can grow stronger as a unit and grow closer together. I married my best friend and through our faith in Jesus Christ we can put our trust in Him. We are traveling on the same path in the same direction and that is a good start to any relationship, we are working from the same page. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Sarah Hunter
Ask and find out for yourself! It can be that simple. In the scriptures we are told "ask and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you". If you have a desire to know if the church is true, allow the Missionaries to come and talk to you. You may ask them questions, if they do not know the answer they will go away and find out. We believe that the Holy Ghost acts as a witness and if we allow the spirit into our heart and have the desire to know something the Lord will let you know. I challenge you to read Moroni 10:4-5 and James 1:5-6, think about these verses and set aside a quiet time that you can kneel down to pray and ask for yourself. Listen with your heart and the sweetness of the truth will teach you. Show more Show less
