Hi I'm Chris Watton

Hi I grew up in the West Midlands, I work as a Driving Instructor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is chris, I'm 50 years old, I am married , we have three children, I have a son, from a previous marriage and two step children, my step children now have children of their own. I enjoy travelling, reading and watching rugby, and I also enjoy clay pigeon shooting

Why I am a Mormon

My wife had been a member of the church for 36 years, and for some time not active in the church, in 2005 she had a visit from 2 missionaries who had been trying to visit her for a while, missionaries had visited her on many occasions before, but this time was different, this time my wife felt it was time for her to start attending church again. The missionaries began to encourage her to return to church and asked her if it would be possible to include me in their lessons, my wife at thus point thought that I would not be interested but agreed for the missionary to ask me in person, at this point I was not interested in religion and although I knew my wife's parents were members, I had no need for region or so I thought. When the missionaries left for the evening we discussed her feelings about retuning to church, and I agreed to go through the lessons planned to see how her returning to church would change my life. After going through the lessons and meeting a challenge to read the Book of Mormon , I found that the questions I had about religion were being answered one by one and I found my belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ, after researching this newly found religion I was baptised and have been an active member of the church ever since, and have found all that I have learned in the past years to be true, and have found that I have been blessed with the knowledge of the truth and peace my beliefs give me each day.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church since 2005, and up to now have held 3 callings in the church, I currently serve as a Bishop in my home ward, where I work with other members to help them In any way, I can, I try to work with the youth and the adults where I can, and try to visit the members of the ward as often as I can.
