Hi I'm Felicia

I love Colorado! I'm a red personality and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have gone to three different colleges and I'm currently serving an ASL mission. I learned ASL in high school and have declared deaf studies emphasis in interpreting as my major. I was a nanny in Belgium for several months and while I was there I visited nine other countries. I love the outdoors, ballroom dancing(not competitively), American Sign language, drawing, hiking, reading, Ralph Waldo Emerson's "self reliance" essay, and I believe everything can be fixed with chocolate and ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

Every decision I make is based on my faith. I try do the best I possibly can to live my life according to the way Christ would want me to live. I know that I fall short, all of us fall short compared to the glory of God. However we have a loving Father in Heaven who has paved a path for us so we can journey through this life with the guidance and help from a divine being. I know I will make mistakes but because of Christ atonement we can become better. Christ Gave us the gift of change for the better, repentance is that gift. It is up to us to accept the gift and try our best. The gospel of Jesus Christ has enabled me to fill the fullness of what it truly means to come unto Christ. I have felt Gods love in my life and unfortunately I know what it is like when it has been out of my life. But I know that God gave us this life to learn and to grow, to teach us what it means to truly come unto him with a broken heart and contrite spirit, seeking for the better. Heavenly Father gave us the fullness of joy by giving us the restoration. I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is true and I know that through the gospel I am closer to my family and my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Christ. I am currently serving a mission and teaching people about the gospel and how it has blessed my life and how it can bless theirs. I am not perfect in anyway but I try my best to serve my family and those around me. I feel one of the best ways to live my faith is by serving others. When I graduated college I decided to strive towards a degree in marine biology. I absolutely love the ocean and have always dreamed of being able to make that love a career for myself. However after my first year at college I felt that although being a marine biologist would bring me joy and happiness it would be hindering others from experiencing joy because my other talents that were meant to serve them would be withheld. I then decided that the best way I could use my talents to serve others would be to pursue a career in American sign language interpreting. I had studied ASL in high school and because I had my family was able to adopt three children that were meant to be part of my family along. My family at the time did foster care and we one day got a phone call from the agency asking us if we would be willing to take two little boys that very night. One of the boys was said to have a "hearing problem" and they asked us because the social workers knew that I was studying ASL which was both of the biological parents native language. We agreed to take the children and soon found out that my brothers "hearing problem" was almost complete deafness. Having those boys in our home were some of the most difficult, most rewarding experience of my families life.
