Hi I'm Jenny

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful man and a mother of four great kids. I grew up in California but now call Missouri home. I play the piano and have been very involved in music since I was young. I also like to work with video editing when I can find the time. I enjoy the outdoors--we have a few cows, a couple of horses, a couple of dogs. I must say that I have a corgi--any other corgi owners out there will know why I would mention this. :) I like to garden and am always working to learn new things about it. Life is often very busy taking care of so much but life is good and I enjoy it.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has made my life much better than it would have been without it. Having the teachings and understandings that I have really help me in my decisions. It helps me to understand why it is important to care for others, why it is important to control how I act, why it is important to live a certain way. I know I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I know that this life is not the end, that I will continue after my life on this earth has ended. It gives my life meaning and purpose. I know who and what I am. I have peace and happiness because I have hope. It is not always easy. One of the things we believe is this life is a testing period and that tests will come. However, through it all, I feel peace because I know why I am here, where I came from, where I am going so I can have better understanding of why things are happening in my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as an Early-Morning Seminary teacher for our ward. It is a class for our high-school age kids to study the scriptures before they head off to school for the day! I suppose I am officially there to "teach" the kids but I really feel that I learn more than anyone else in the room. It is a huge blessing to be able to spend each morning--begin my day--in conversation with our youth focusing on the principles of the gospel. They have much insight and wisdom that helps enrich my life. I think that sometimes I believe my life is too busy to really settle in and study the scriptures like I need to. Having this calling has helped me to see the importance of scripture study and has shown me that I can make room in my life for it and now I know I can't get by without it. Having the teachings of the scriptures in my thoughts helps me as I go throughout the day to be a better person, to be kind and gentle with those whom I meed, to see ways that I can help and have the desire to help others. I feel closer to Christ, I feel that I know Him better and I love Him and want to help be His hands here on Earth.
