Hi I'm Kara

I live in Utah. I was a New York nanny and cosmetologist but now serving in the California Fresno Mission! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, and I love it! I am one of four children, two boys and two girls! I love being outside and doing anything that gives me a reason to be out there! Swimming, biking, camping, basketball, soccer and so much more! I enjoyed playing school sports growing up but education is also very important to me. I worked hard, did my work and kept my 4.0 all my schooling! Because I didn't have any classes my senior year, I started and finished beauty school! By the time I graduated high school I was a licensed cosmetologist, nail technician, and basic esthetician! A week after graduating, I moved across the country, alone, to do hair and be a nanny in New York! I learned so much and wouldn't trade the experience for anything else! My time was cut short there as I was called to serve The Lord for 18 months and labor in the California mission 5 weeks later! What a blessing! I am grateful for The Lord and all the ways that I can see Him guide my life in the right path. I hope one day to be a loving wife and mother, and to also finish my schooling. We are so blessed to have so many options in our lives and for that, I am so grateful!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for several reasons, maybe to big to list all. So lets start! I love this gospel. I grew up in an active mormon household, but as I moved across the country to work, I lived with a non-member family. I could physically and spiritually feel the difference. I love the peace and comfort that I get from it. A few summers ago, I lost three of my grandparents all within 3 short months. Through this gospel, I know and believe that without a doubt, I didn't 'lose' them. They are just needed somewhere else right now. If I continue to live my life faithfully, I will get to see them, hug them, and live with them again. Does that not comfort your soul right there? As I have been finishing school and becoming an adult, we all know that we have so many choices and life-changing options. When I come to cross roads and don't know what to do, I can search, ponder and pray and He hears and answers my prayers. Always. Then when sometimes I make the wrong decision, I know that I have the continuous Atonement to repent and be better the next day. What a wonderful blessing from our Saviour Jesus Christ! I am forever grateful! I can also read the Book of Mormon and learn of the past. It teaches me and has stories and passages that I can relate to. But most importantly, I feel the Spirit comfirm that those teachings are true. I have grown, learned and know for myself that every word of the Book of Mormon is true. We DO have modern day prophets that receive revelation for us. They are choice men called of God and I love them with all my heart. These are some of the blessings that our beautiful church has always had, still has, and will continue to have forever and ever. These are the reasons that I am a Mormon, and could never be anything else. Who wouldn't want any of these?

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith the best that I can everyday! Whether it is church related or not. By being kind, smiling, helping those around you, and always expecting the best of people is how I try and be an example. I have held leadership positions on school councils, city councils, and also through out my church. Each one gave me times to help others and learn how to work with different people. I have learned who I am and what I stand for. So when I am in times of making hard decisions, I can look at the big picture and see how it will effect my life later. I also live my faith by trying to love everyone that I meet! Trying to see them the way that I know the Savior loves them, makes me put mean feelings aside and loves them even more! The more you try and live your faith, the happier your days become and the more energy you have to get everything done! I promise!
