Hi I'm Erin-Michelle Mobo Jones

I am many things! A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a musician & singer, a student, but most importantly...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 19 year old college student! I am a proud half filipina and just love everything about my mother's culture! I love fashion and I would absolutely love to be a style consultant one day. I live through music; I am a proud band nerd and couldn't possibly live without music. I love spending time outside! Rock climbing, hiking, long boarding -- just get me outside and with friends and I'm happy. I thrive off of meeting new people while also maintaining good relationships with the wonderful people in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have never felt so happy in my life than how I have felt since I have become a true believer of this gospel. I have had many struggles and many trials. There was a time in my life when I was pulling myself away from the church because I wasn’t willing to take the time to figure out what I believed to be true. I thought that I knew what was right for myself and for a while, I thought I was happy. One thing I have learned through my experiences is that there is a difference between happiness and joy! Happiness, it seems like a great, great thing. In the moment, you’re making choices that seem to make you happy and that seem to bring you joy...but after a while, you really realize that the happiness fades away. When I was apart from the church for that period in my life, I believed that I was doing great and I thought I was happy, but it very soon went away and I struggled more and more to be happy because there was a void in my life. I learned that everlasting joy only comes through following Christ and his teachings. There are many things in our lives that seem to make us soooo happy but it does not last forever. Something that does last forever is the love of Christ that we can feel by searching diligently for his truths. Once I set aside my pride and began studying the scriptures and really searching for truth in this gospel, it was almost like a slap to the face or a lightbulb switching on. This gospel saves lives and I know this because I have found solace in the knowledge I have gained of Christ's atoning sacrifice for us. I urge anyone who is searching for truth and light in this world to turn to this gospel and read the Book of Mormon. If you are struggling with purpose of life or anything of the sort, I can guarantee you that the answers you seek can be found in this wonderful gospel.

How I live my faith

Every day, I am continually striving to become a better, more Christlike person. I know that I can not do everything right but I know that it is okay to make mistakes in life. No matter what I may do wrong, I know that if I stay strong and try harder to do the right things, with the Savior's help, my burdens can be lifted and I can keep trying harder to be as he is. I live my faith by always making sure that others know of the standards I hold myself to. It doesn't matter who I am with or where I am, I will always make sure that I am being the best person that I can be so that I can help to set an example for those around me. I want to be a teacher to those around me who are in need of guidance and I know that if I am always trying my best to do good things, I can help to bring others unto Christ who are in need of his great love and care.
