Hi I'm Braden

I'm a college student, an uncle, a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying music education in college pursuing a career as a band or choral conductor. My mission in Charlotte, North Carolina has been the best experience of my life. I am very social and love making new friends. Some of my hobbies include hiking, mountain biking, camping and fishing, running, boating, and playing music (trumpet, voice, guitar). There is never a dull moment with my family, immediate or extended, which means life is always an adventure! I believe life is to be enjoyed!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I went to church with my family and we did our best to have scripture study every night. When I was a Junior in high school, I began to want to know more for myself if the things I had learned all my life were true. I sought guidance from my parents and seminary teachers. My seminary teachers taught me not only to read my scriptures, but how to read them. I did the things they advised - read the words of the prophets, pray about the Book of Mormon, and continue to attend church to see if it's all true. As I did those things, I began to feel the impressions from the Holy Ghost bearing witness to me of the truth. My testimony didn't end there. I had many other, seemingly small, experiences with the Holy Spirit which really solidified my knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel. When I went to college I held strong to my faith because I had gained a testimony of my own before I left for school. Simply put, I gained my testimony through being obedient to God's commandments, even when I didn't know the reason for them. Having faith in the commandments of God as a child and teenager led me to having my own faith and testimony of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the reality and hope of the Atonement. I am so grateful to be a member of the true and living Church of Jesus Christ. I bear witness this is His Church and in it is found the fullness of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always striving to be exactly obedient to the Lord's commandments. This includes reading my scriptures and praying each day, attending my meetings, and so much more and I love it! My parents set a great example for me of doing this. I have learned from them that we can receive help and guidance from the studying the scriptures and praying to our Father in Heaven. I also enjoy reading the words of the living prophets in the General Conference issue of the Ensign magazine. I am a witness that obedience brings blessings and exact obedience brings miracles.
