Hi I'm Amber

I'm energetic and optimistic. I love life, the outdoors, and learning about cultures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married, fun loving, people person. I love spending time with others and learning about different cultures. My passion is in conflict resolution and I am currently a certified mediator in Texas. Anything outdoors, I am there. My husband and I love camping and hiking together and look forward to backpacking together sometime. We also love to sing karaoke together. My husband love Jae Chou, and I listen to everything. I served my mission in Daejeon South Korea, but am currently married to a Chinese man. So now that I know Korean, I am attempting to learn some Chinese. I frequently mix the two up is comical ways, so language learning has been really fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has brought so much peace to my life. Because of the gospel, I know that I am never alone. It brings me so much comfort to know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and that he has provided a way for me to be with my family forever. We may not be a perfect family, but I love them and want to be with them. I've been a Mormon for most of my life. As I've gone through life and faced all the challenges that have been placed before me, I have witness the power of the gospel. All of my trials have made me who I am today. As I went through them I was buoyed up Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and the ward I was in provided a great resource for people I could turn to. I love this church, the scriptures, our prophet and apostles, and am so grateful for Christ and the atonement.

How I live my faith

I've generally lived my life by the verse, "Faith without works is dead." It is one thing to sit in church, but it is quite another to practice your faith. Like any instrument or sport, practice makes permanent, and I want to lead a life of faith and love. I always try to participate in community service and serve the church through various callings. One of my favorite callings has been visiting teaching. I pair up with another woman in the ward and we serve our sisters in the church by being a friend and a sister to them. We build relationships that matter and that last. I also get to help in organizing events for the church. I've helped plan gym nights, get to know you activities, and dances. All of course, involve fun, food, and people. It's great to help with wholesome, uplifting events. My most recent calling has been with the Young Women. They are such a pleasure to work with and we always have a lot of fun together. It is so inspiring to watch them have fun as the serve others, learn new skills and uplift each other.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Our Heavenly Father has provided many ways for us to get to know him. You can know him through a few ways: One is definitely prayer. You can feel of his love for you and receive answers to prayer. Praying is a way to communicate with him. You can talk to him and ask questions and, in turn, you will feel of his influence and see his hand in your life. There are also wonderful resources out there such as the scriptures and the words of prophets and apostles. Heavenly Father speaks through them, and as you study the scriptures which give lessons of his teachings, you can come to know him better. It may sounds strange, but another way is to serve your fellow man. The greatest of the commandments are to love God and love your neighbor, and there is no better way to love someone than to serve them. You grow closer to your Father in Heaven as you do so. What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a set of scripture given to the ancient people who populated the Americas. It is a book that testifies of Christ as our Savior; it is a collection of testimonies from ancient prophets; it contains the fullness of the Gospel, and proof that God loves ALL of His children. In the Bible, Jesus is quoted as saying "Other sheep do I have which are not of this fold." The Book of Mormon tells of His "other sheep." Indeed, it is recorded that Christ appeared and ministered unto the people in the Americas after His resurrection. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. You don't have to take my word for it though. Ask God. At the end of the Book of Mormon, Mormon testifies that if you read it and pray about it with a sincere desire to know if it is true, then it will be revealed to you by the Holy Ghost that it is true. God won't leave you hanging. Show more Show less
