Hi I'm Lindsey Newton

I grew up in Utah. I was at the University of Utah, but I'm now serving a mission for the LDS church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was attending the University of Utah. Go Utes! One weird thing I guess is that I enjoy cleaning. I also love to dance with my family and hang out with my family. I come from a family of twelve. I have eight sister and one brother, and of course my mom and dad. I love big families. I enjoy listening to music! I have served a humanitarian service trip in Guatemala, which was amazing!! I loved serving them and getting to know the people and environment. Even though I didn't speak the language, it was amazing to communicate with the locals through games and actions. I lived in Indiana for five years and absolutely loved it! I have traveled to Germany, Luxembourg, Berlin, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. I love watching movies, mostly comedies. I am leaving soon to serve a mission in Louisville, Kentucky! Where I will serve for a year and a half:)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father loves me. I know that He has a plan for each and every one of us. I know that He loves us perfectly. I know that He loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to this earth to atone or make up for our sins, our errors. He doesn't just give you a second chance, He gives you unlimited chances because He loves us. I know that we can repent or ask forgiveness of our sins, but that through this process we need to have a change of heart. I know that today in this day in age, His gospel has been restored. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, He made it possible for the Book of Mormon the be translated. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is meant for our day. I receive so much direction and comfort from that book. I know that when we are doing God's will that we feel the Holy Ghost, or the Comforter. I know He loves us because He gives us the Comforter to direct us, prompt us, and teach us. I know that we can speak to Him through prayer, and He does listen. He understands every challenge and joy that we have, and He wants us to tell Him about them. He has answered mine countless times. I know that I can live with my family and Heavenly Father again when I die. He loves us so much that He promises us His kingdom. For His love is infinite, it is continuous. Most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ lives! We can become whole through, and only through Him. I know I am not alone. I love my Savior, and my God!

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I plan events for my community to travel down to our temple where we perform ordinances for the dead. I enjoy doing this because it brings us all together and allows me to get to know my ancestors and create a relationship with them. I also help others become more active and aware of our church. Part of this is being friends and making friends with everyone. I love my community and have been able to grow close with many of them. This is nice because we know we have each others backs, we are all trusting of each other and we grow with each other through the trials and the good times.
