Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a musician, a writer, and a dancer. I'm a mormon

About Me

I'm currently a music major in college, but I'm changing to Marriage and Family Studies. I love to read books, mainly fantasy like the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. I also love to write stories of the same genre. I also love outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, rock climbing, and anything that can be done at a park (swinging especially). Dancing is one of my favorite pastimes. I want to be able to travel the world one day to see all of the different cultures, and I want nothing more than to be a mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. When I was younger, I just believed what my parents believed like a lot of little kids do. As I got older, I started looking for reasons I should be a member, because I didn't want to be someone who was accused of being a blind follower, and I wanted to know if I should keep going to church. After lots of reading scriptures, talking to Church leaders, and praying, I found many reasons to stay. I found that the love is strong principle in the Gospel. We were sent here to earth because God loves us, and he provided a way for us to repent and get back to him because he loves us. I know that God loves us. I know that any kind of rules he sets for us are for our safety, just like how parents set rules for their children. I know that through repentance, we can return to our God.

How I live my faith

I love going to church on Sundays, and going to Church activities throughout the week. I've helped a lot with music in the Church, like being the piano accompanist for the adult choir, and the children's choir. I've also sung in the adult choir many times. Some of my favorite songs to sing and play are Church hymns. I try to live by example, and show people what I believe by how I act. I keep Christ in my life by doing my best to love everyone, no matter who they are or what they do.
