Hi I'm Rachele

I grew up in Florida but have moved and travelled a lot as an adult. Mostly, I enjoy spending time with my family.

About Me

After high school and my first year of college, I enlisted in the Air Force as a Biomedical Technician. I got out and finished college, then received by commission in the Navy as a Supply Corps Officer. These career choices have given me the opportunity to travel the world and meet incredible people and enjoy amazing experiences. I enjoy camping, hiking, scrap booking, baking, and cooking. But most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family. They keep me grounded and give me such love and support. I have a wonderful husband and between the two of us, we have three children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church. My parents were baptized a couple of years before I was born. They were previously Presbyterian and are excellent role models. I was taught the principles of the Gospel as a child in Primary and enjoyed learning about Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. Years later, after my divorce, my faith was rocked quite a bit. A few years of doubt finally convinced me to consider an alternative. After two years, I returned to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I missed it. I missed feeling the peace and love I feel at church and in the temple. There is no alternative for me. I truly know this now. This experience taught me a great deal about myself and the love my Savior has for me - for each of us. I know this Church is true. I know the prophet is a man of God, and I know God is my Heavenly Father. I know He loves me. He loves us so much that He created a perfect plan for us to return to him after our time here. His son, Jesus Christ, died for us and was resurrected to make the Plan of Salvation happen. This is why I am a Mormon. I know my Savior lives. And I know He loves me.

How I live my faith

We recently moved so I don't have a calling yet. In Iraq, I was the Relief Society president in my little branch. Previously, I have served as Sunday School teacher, Young Women advisor and counselor, Relief Society counselor, primary teacher, Girl's Camp Director, and Nursery. The wonderful thing I truly love about the Church is that it is the same regardless of where I am in the world. It is the same whether I lived in Italy, Germany, Iraq, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, or Virginia. The scriptures, lesson manuals, doctrine, callings, and sacrament are all the same. It gives me great comfort to know I don't have to worry about finding a place to worship my Savior when we move. We know a ward or branch will be there, and that it will function the same as the last.
