Hi I'm TerryKay

I'm a Mormon, living in the great state of Texas with my wonderful dog Gracie. I have lived and traveled all over the USA.

About Me

I am very blessed to be able to live the life I have always dreamed of living. I have the best dog in the world. Gracie is a 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. She is smart, funny and enjoys being with me. We spend all our time together because I get to work from home, completing weekly performance reports. We live very simply and as “green” as we can - gardening, solar, rain water collection, composting and recycling. I am excited to go school through BYU-Idaho’s online program. My six younger brothers and sisters live all over the USA, so I don’t see them often, but we talk on the phone often. My Dad lives pretty close so I can see him more. My Mom passed away several years ago; she is missed but we know she is well and busy doing the work of the Lord. We look forward to the day when we are reunited. I enjoy reading and watching movies when I can. I would love to do more traveling and maybe some camping. Eventually I want to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Savior Jesus Christ. I desire to know Him, to follow Him, to be obedient to His commandments and to return to live with Him again in the next life. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because this is His church, restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, in 1830. In no other way can I learn what I need to do to return to my Heavenly Father. Through no other organization on the earth today can I receive the required ordinances that bless my life. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon, because it clarifies the Bible and truly is a second witness of the power and glory of our beloved Savior. I am grateful to know that God is the same today and always, and has given us a living prophet Thomas S. Monson to guides, to warn us and to teach us. Jesus lives. He overcame all and paid for all sin so we can turn to Him, repentant, humble and willing to remember Him, so He can heal us. This gives me hope, and causes me to be a better disciple of Christ. “O then despise not, and wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. Doubt not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old, and come unto the Lord with all your heart, and work out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.” Moron 9:27

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is my life. I cannot think of anything that I do, think or say that isn’t influenced by the gospel. One of the classes I am taking this semester is the Book of Mormon. We have the best conversions about our understanding, discoveries and testimonies of the Book of Mormon using the BYU-Idaho Online discussion boards. As I read the scriptures and go through my day I pray about and ponder the things I have read. Through the promptings of the Holy Ghost I am taught and guided through my day. I am a councilor in the Relief Society, the women’s organization of the church. The purpose of Relief Society is to prepare women for the blessings of eternal life. I help with our Sunday lessons another great opportunity to learn, grow, share testimonies and strengthen each other.
