Hi I'm Sally Boughton

Born and raised in California, I am one of 6 girls. I will soon be serving a mission in Texas for 18 months. I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I love trying new things! Whether that new thing is food, activities or meeting new people- I love to start new adventures. I have tried my hand at things like archery, skydiving, bouldering, and Aikido. I am a sophomore in college, still trying to narrow down what it is that I want with my major and future career. Currently I am progressing towards therapeutic recreation, which is physical therapy through a variety of means (dance, gardening, swimming..). I am so excited and happy about life, and look forward to what each new day brings. I will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months in Texas. I cannot wait to help share the joy I have felt through this gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that my Father in heaven has a plan for me. I know how dearly he loves me- he sent his only begotten son to suffer for my sins and trials, and for yours. He did this so that we could have a chance to make it back into his presence. Being raised in the church, when I turned about 18 I had to really know for myself if it was something that I truly believed in. Up until then I wasn't completely sure. It was around this time that I made some mistakes, and I felt the sorrow and pain of them heavy in my heart. Through the power of Jesus Christ and his Atonement, those pains have been completely washed away. I have witnessed his love and his Atonement in my life as I worked my way through repentance and a remission of my sins. This experience I had means everything to me. I owe so much to my Savior. I want to do everything I can to follow his example of love and charity, and to follow his commandments. I know that he loves me, and wants to do everything he can to guide me back to him. I know that this is the true and living church of Christ. One of the biggest things for me is that we are guided by a living prophet of the Lord. I have come to know this gospel by diligently reading through the scriptures, living their teachings, attending meetings and asking in sincere prayer to my Father if it true. The Holy Spirit has borne a witness in my heart that it is. My name is Sally, and I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church with a large college aged group. Many of which attend a local college just a few blocks away. Something that I do to live my faith is to try and share it with others. About once a week, a group of us goes down onto the college campus and set up a little booth; inviting others to learn more about what we believe and sharing what it is we love about being apart of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. I have had the opportunity to talk to many people about how much their Father in heaven loves them, and how I have seen his love in my own life. It is amazing watching the comfort and smiles this can bring by helping others to know they are loved!
