Hi I'm Zoe Bateman

I'm a girl who loves video games. I'm serving a full time mission in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading, writing and video games, even though I'm a girl! I'm a college student, but I put a pause in my schooling at BYU to serve God and serve a mission! I know that I have been brought a lot of happiness through knowing about the restored gospel, and decided that I wanted to share that knowledge with others. I left my school, my job, and my family back in Utah for 18 months so that I could do so. I am serving in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, I love it here and I love the people that I meet. I hope to be able to bring people closer to Christ and see them accept the happiness that I've seen so evident in my life. I love this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that this is the only true church of God and Jesus Christ and this is where I want to be. I know that I have gained more happiness from living this gospel than I have gained through any other thing in my life. Jesus Christ, and his gospel, have strengthened me in times both good and bad, helped me to see the way I should go, and shaped the decisions I have made in my life. I certainly wouldn't have decided to serve a mission if I didn't believe that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and didn't have the desire to allow others to know that too.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving a misison in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I work to share the gospel with people everywhere. I love Jesus Christ and my Hevenly Father and want others to have the opportunity to do the same. On a mission we wake up at 6:30am every morning (yup, even weekends) and start our day with scripture study. Then we work with people from our church in the area to find those who have been prepared to recieve the gospel and who want to develop their relationship with Christ. We work hard all day, every day, and love the work and the people we meet. We get home usually at about 9pm and after planning for the next day and saying our prayers lights out by 10:30. It's hard and a lot of work, but 100% worth it. I love the opportunity I have to see others come to know Christ and move forward in faith and love.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Zoe Bateman
We believe in the bible so long as it is translated correctly. We believe that the Bible is a testament of the prophets and of Jesus Christ when he lived on the earth. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Zoe Bateman
All the teachers and leaders of the church are called of God to serve their church. We believe that doing so should be exactly that: a service. Everyone has the opportunity to accept or turn down a calling, but when accepted, a calling means that you have offered your time to God and are willing to serve the people. We also believe that being willing to do so strengthens community and faily relationships throughout the world. Altogether, having and serving in a calling is a blessing! Show more Show less
