Hi I'm Kelsy Owens

I grew up in Lehi Utah. I worked with mentally hadicapped adults. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I graduated from high school in 2011. I love acting, singing, and dancing. There is just something that music brings that can uplift our spirits and speak to us in a way nothing else can. I was adopted by my step father when I was a junior in high school. I'm very grateful for the love that our family shares.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 I wasn't sure if religion was something that I wanted to be apart of. That year I went to EFY (especially for youth) camp. I felt everything was directed in teaching me who Heavenly Father was, and what our relationship to him is. The second day my counselor gave a devotional and challenged us to pray and ask to know if we were daughters of our Father in Heaven. I was bound and determined to pray and find out. *I had prayed before, but this time was different. I was willing to change the way I was thinking about religion and ready to change the way I was living my life if I got an answer.* That answer still burns in my heart today. That prayer muttered by a confused 15 year old girl has never left my mind. I know who I am. I am a daughter of God. Our Father in Heaven lives and he desires all of us to return to him. He offers us eternal life throught the mercy and grace of his Only Bogotten Son. I know that the Savior lives. He knows me and is there to be the advocate with the Father. I'm very grateful for this truth and light in my life. I don't know where I would be without it.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to to do some great things in the community. We have gone to homeless shelters to serve food. As a group of young woman we made hats and blankets to take to a local childrens hospital. We have babysat kids while their parents went out on a date. I was able to do lots of yard work for neighbors. I love doing service. I like knowing that I could be lightening a burden that someone else has. I've also had the chance to visit with many of the sisters in the ward. Doing this has allowed me to gain a great perspective in life and realize what I want for myself. I'm grateful for their experiences and teaching me so I can make better life choices. I love the peole in my ward family.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kelsy Owens
I think that little things that happen if our lives and we think "oh what a great coincidence." I personally don't believe in coincidences. I believe that things happen for a reason. I love seeing what I believe to be the hand of the Lord in my life. I can see tender mercies in each day. I know that he loves me and is watching over and having little "coincidences" happen for a reason. We need those things. I also feel that a world like this couldn't just blow up and become the earth as we know it. The earth so complex and beautiful. I have yet to see something that blows up and is as beautiful as earth... Show more Show less
