Hi I'm Abraham

I'm from Wales. I love my family and my friends. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 years old. I love my family and my friends. I love Wales! My personal opinion is that Wales was the Garden of Eden (unfortunately not Church doctrine). I can't remember not loving it, and as I've got older I've looked for new ways to explore and experience it all. It is wet, grey, green and peaceful. However, its only fun if you do it with friends or family, otherwise I think there’s not much point doing it. My brother is preparing to serve a mission, he's two years younger than me and we get along great. I play trumpet and piano because I enjoy it. I swim, mountain bike, and hike. I'm doing volunteer work at the moment.

Why I am a Mormon

It was forced upon me by my parents! Naah, I love my parents and I love my faith, I'm sure there was a time when I was dependent on my parents for my faith, but I grew out of it pretty quick. By the time I got to sixth-form though, I'd figured that living the way Christ taught and showed us brought me more fulfilment than anything else I'd tried. So thats it; it feels good and lasts longer than any thing else so far. The Church in Britain carries the slogan "Truth Will Prevail" and it has so far! A friend said to me the other day "I'm a Mormon because the book feels good when I read it." I'm a Mormon for lots of reasons but thats deffinatly one of them.

How I live my faith

Live it, love it, share it! I really think if you have something good you have a responsibility to share it with others, so I share my faith by living it in the best way I know how. There's a hymn that asks the question "have I done any good in the world today?". Jesus taught that we should help others and that is at the core of my faith; I look for ways to help other people. I loved teaching piano because I was helping people to learn a skill. I can also be a bit random and inpulsive, I love to suprise-attack my family with a random act of kindness, its sort of become a competition now. We all make mistakes (if we didn't life would be very boring I think) and although I don't like to make mistakes, I do get excited when I learn something from them. Learning is probably the biggest part of my faith, I love learning about Church history, I love learning about Wales, the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, learning about other people, music, history in general, and I starting to even like learning how to cook!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe God is the Eternal Father of Jesus Christ. When I pray to Him I call him Father because He is the father of my soul. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Its like having a duck on your head - everybody notices and its a good laugh. Seriously though, being a Mormon is one of those things I don't think about much, its part of me and its a part of me that I like very much. I love being a Mormon because it gives me more freedom than anything else in the world. Including mountain biking. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Something that has always affected me is how my mum and dad treat each other. They're both martial-artists and mountain bikers, not as much now that they're old(er), so they were always trying to beat each other when I (and they) were younger, but as time's gone on, they've shown me that the most important thing is working as a team. I really can't picture them in heaven as anything else but husband and wife. They love each other and because of the blessings of the temple, I know my parents will still be married and together forever. Thats a big choice that they've made, one that will stay with them forever, literally; death will not separate my parents. I'm glad they decided to make that choice. Show more Show less

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

God told us to. Then, after some time, He told us to stop. Its really that simple. Show more Show less
