Hi I'm Dillan

I grew up in Arizona and Utah, I'm a missionary in Canada, I study Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, and I love music!

About Me

I love music. Throughout middle school and high school I participated in both band and choir. In band I played trumpet, french horn, euphonium, and my favorite, tuba. In choir I was assigned medium baritone parts, although I really like to sing each or any of the parts. I play piano as well, and on my mission I have began to learn the organ. I like how music can bring people together, and I love the way it feels you are playing or singing something really fantastic and uplifting. I am currently a missionary in Alberta Canada. I love it here! When I return from my mission, I will continue to study to computer science and electrical engineering, a field I am excited about and interested in.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, when I pray about the messages of Gospel, they feel so overwhelmingly true! I couldn't imagine life any other way. I gained my testimony sitting on a grassy hill at an especially for youth camp reading my scriptures. The particular topic of choice that day was a section or two from the story of the stripling warriors. I realized that those guys had lived their lives in such a way and listened to their mothers so well that they were able to make it through a fierce army battle unharmed. I looked at their example of enormous faith. I realized that I wanted to live my life in the same way, so I made a decision right there, to really let my faith in Christ grow, and over the next few weeks as I strove to be better, I noticed that my testimony seemed to be showing up out of nowhere. I noticed how good it made me feel and how happy I became as I continued to grow my faith, and I try my best everyday to keep my testimony growing. I have found that like the stripling warriors, when we fight our battles with God, we will always win.

How I live my faith

I believe that to live my faith means to serve others. Since I was ordained to the priesthood I have always tried to fulfill my callings to the best of my ability. I enjoy home teaching and while I was a ward missionary in my student ward, I liked to go and visit or email less active members, give blessings, and pray with those who needed strength. As a seminary student I made it my goal to read all four of the standard works, and memorize the scripture masteries. I also like to go to the temple often. These things help bring the spirit into my life. When I feel down, I pray to my Father in Heaven about it, and I feel my loving Heavenly Father reaching out to me with feelings of peace and happiness.
