Hi I'm Kaitlyn Rockwood

I am a missionary in Tucson Arizona. I am an Aggie. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my Sophomore year at college studying Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tucson, Arizona. I can play the clarinet and saxophone and in high school I was a member of the band. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love to read when I get a good book in my hands. I mostly love spending time outdoors. Boating and camping are my two favorite outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church by amazing parents who always showed my siblings and I the way to live to be happy. As a child, when I didn't have my own testimony, I was able to lean on my father's testimony until I gained my own. I have an amazing dad who always showed us and taught us the correct way to live and act. My mom has always been a good example of service and kindness to everyone. As I grew older, I was able to gain my own testimony and become independent in my beliefs through studying the Book of Mormon and asking questions. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here on the earth today. I know that it was restored by a young prophet who had the courage to ask and stick to what he knew to be true. I know that Christ lives and that He will come again to redeem all men. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ given to us today to help us through the trials of life. I know that the church is lead by a living prophet who receives revelation to lead, guide and direct the world today. I know this because I have asked and have received my own witness through the Holy Ghost of the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way I live my everyday life. I strive to do things that our Savior would do. I choose to obey the commandments and make good decisions. I try to give service to those who are around me. Being a missionary, I live my faith by inviting everyone around me to draw closer to Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Kaitlyn Rockwood
We believe that it is essential for salvation in the kingdom of God that all men must be baptized. Because this ordinance wasn't always on the earth, many people lived and died without the opportunity to receive the saving ordinance. Thus, we perform baptism by proxy (a living person may be baptized in behalf of a deceased person) so that each person who has lived and died has the opportunity to accept this ordinance and qualify for their own salvation in the kingdom of God.
