Hi I'm Matt

I'm an agriculture student. A fisherman. A father-to-be. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had a few medical issues with multiple heart surgeries, diabetes, and a little foot problem, but I try not to let it slow me down. I enjoy traveling and doing anything outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and camping are my big three. I even have had the opportunity to work two years on a fishing boat in Alaska. And it just gets better, I married up big time and have a great wife and a little princess on the way. We love to cook Ramen Surprise and other unique foods. I also enjoy working with livestock and growing things. My extended family lives in all corners of the country and I try to visit them as often as possible. I have great in-laws that feed me my fair share on Sunday afternoons. I'm probably the best card player I've ever met. And I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Not wanting to sound too cheesy, but being a Mormon is the most important thing in my life. I have been very blessed and owe it all to Christ's gospel. The best way to improve or overcome anything in your life is by following His gospel. If you don't believe me, why not give it a try.

How I live my faith

I am a student at BYU-Idaho; a Mormon University. We have opening prayers at the beginning of each class period and a weekly devotional. Before I started my schooling, I served a 2 year volunteer mission in the state of Montana. During that time, I was able to help many people and gain a stronger understanding and belief of Jesus Christ's gospel for myself. I try to make it to church each Sunday and haven't missed one for a few years. I recommend everyone else do the same. Lately, my wife and I have been teaching Sunday School about once a month. We try to focus our lessons on the Savior's teachings and how we can improve our lives, which is a constant process for everyone.
