Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a country girl, I have naturally curly hair, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Melissa but my family calls me almost everything except that. I grew up on a farm and I have worked outside my whole life. I grew up with four older brothers who have spoiled me and protected me through everything I have done. I grew up in a very small town and I love living in the country. I am currently attending college in Idaho and I am learning to love it. Some of my most favorite things to do are ride motorbikes, play with my dog, play softball, eat, and be with my continually growing family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this gospel! I love knowing that I can communicate to my Heavenly Father through prayer and that he will answer my prayers. I love knowing that I can be together forever with my family. I love knowing that no matter what I do I always have my Heavenly Father as a friend and someone that loves me. I love my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ and I know that by being a Mormon I can come closer to them and come to know more about them. When I went away to college I felt very alone and afraid. I was not put into a very ideal situation and I did not make the best out of my situation. I was miserable! Eventually I got to a point that i needed help and comfort and the person that I knew I could turn to was my Heavenly Father. I prayed to Him for comfort, strength, and a friend. I needed help and all growing up i had been taught that if we pray we will be comforted and strengthened. So I prayed. Eventually my answer came. I found friends. I made it through school. Most importantly I knew that my Heavenly Father was there listening to me personally. Through this gospel I know that I personally am important and a Child of God. I know that my fears can be silenced, my weaknesses made strong, and my hurt can be taken away. This church is amazing. It has become more than just a belief. I know that it is true and it influences everything that I do because it is who I am.

How I live my faith

I can't help but live my faith. It is who I am. I try to live in a way so that I am not only learning about the gospel but also living it. I want others to understand out faith by the things I do and the light of Christ showing through me. My mother is a piano teacher and so I have had no choice but to learn how to play the piano. Because of this wonderful talent I have developed of playing the piano I have had the wonderful opportunity multiple times to play the piano for congregations or groups of people in our church to sing or listen to. I love music and I feel that it can bring such a wonderful feeling and Spirit to the meetings. Through music I can help myself and others feel more from this gospel. Other ways that I can live my faith is by attending church, devotionals, serving others, and being kind.
