Hi I'm Lucas Mavromatis

I was born and raised in Brazil. I'm in love with history, culture, languages and my wife. I'm happy to be a Mormon!

About Me

I guess you could say I'm a very eclectic person. I love history and politics, basketball and volleyball, movies and trivia, and the list goes on. Despite my hobbies and interests, I've chosen to take a career in something completely different: Finance and Marketing. I'm getting ready to graduate from college and start a full-time position at a multinational firm. Aside from that, I was also married a little over a year ago, and every day since then has been the best day of my life. My wife and I live in a very small town in North Carolina, but have managed to enjoy ourselves here, build friends, and try to find joy and happiness in what was probably the last place on Earth we ever thought we'd end up in.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised LDS, but that's not why I've decided to remain a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because it has brought me happiness throughout all these years. I'm a Mormon because doing so has helped me love my neighbor and find gratitude from the things that really matter in life.

How I live my faith

For me, true happiness comes from serving others and giving back to those around me. For that reason, I live my faith by constantly devoting myself to my family, my church, and all those whom I come in contact with. For the past 3 years, I've been in charge of increasing the awareness of the LDS faith at my university, through a calling I've held as president of the Latter-day Saint Student Association. In addition, one of my most rewarding deeds has been to go out with the missionaries in the area. LDS missionaries not only help people learn more about Heavenly Father's plan for us, but they are also engaged in several community projects that range from helping people move, plant a garden, or visit them and share a message of comfort and joy.
