Hi I'm Abby

I love being outdoors. I was raised in a small community in Utah. I'm a country girl and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have lived in the same house all of my life. I have a big family just like the stereotypical Mormons. I LOVE traveling and have been to Paris, London and Venice. My dad runs semi trucks for a living and I love helping him work on the trucks and help in the shop. I am a Tom-boy. I love sports, especially basketball, running softball and watching soccer an football. I attended a year at USU studying business and now I am currently serving a full-time mission in Louisiana.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this is the only true Church and that God has provided a way for us to return back to him after this life. The gospel brings so much joy into my life. I hope to share that knowledge with anyone that has a desire to become better and progress towards eternal life. I know that this gospel is true. I know that we are lead by a true prophet today. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true and correct book. I have experienced God directly answering my prayers and I know that as we pray to him he hears and answers them (:

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. I am on the Enrollment committee at USU's Institute of Religion and get to help organize events and parties to help people learn about the gospel and come unto Christ. I am also living my faith by serving a mission. What better way to live it than by sharing it? It is such a joy to share this good news to anyone who hasn't heard it yet.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Abby
I heard a comparison about authority once. We could compare it to an ice cream man trying to pull you over for committing a traffic violation. He could do that and give you a ticket but it wouldn't mean anything. The ticket wouldn't be valid. The same is true for the proper authority to perform the ordinance of baptism. If someone that doesn't have the authority performs it, it wouldn't mean anything. It wouldn't be valid. That's why it's so important to have the Priesthood authority given by Heavenly Father to worthy priesthood holders. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Abby
We have a loving God. We often refer to Him as our Heavenly Father because we know that He is the father of our spirits. Therefore, He is our Loving Father in Heaven. Since not everyone that ever lives on the Earth have the chance to hear the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God has provided the opportunity for them to hear it in the next life. Since baptism is essential for us to enter into the kingdom of God, we perform proxy baptisms in our temples so that they can accept that baptism in the next life. I know that these things are given as a way for every one of God's children to return to live with Him one day. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Abby
Faith is a belief that leads to action. When we have faith in Jesus Christ, it leads us to want to live better lives and repent of our wrong choices. Faith is also the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is the foundation that we must build on so that when trials and hardships come, we have something to help us through. As I have increased my faith, I have recieved blessings. More knowledge has come as a result of acting on that faith and repenting of my faults. Show more Show less
