Hi I'm Katy Grigg

I am a sister, a daughter, a friend, a student and a missionary. I love sports, music, games and jokes. And I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am 20 years old. I am a sophomore at Utah State. I am the middle child of 5 kids. I love boating, motorcycle riding, dirt bike riding, fishing, hiking, music, movies and many other things. I have lived in Idaho my whole life and i love it here. My life is simple but i am surrounded by my friends and family and i wouldn't have it any other way. I am preparing to leave on my mission to New Mexico, and i have never been more excited about anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father. He truly loves and cares for me. He loves me so much that even thought He knows that I'm not perfect, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to prepare the way for me to live with Him again some day. I know the answers to questions like, Where did I come from? Why I am here? and Where am I going? I know that being Mormon has blessed my family. We are happier when we go to church and are living God's commandments. I know that my family can and will be together forever. My parents were married not " 'till death do you part" but for time and all eternity. That brings peace. No matter what happens, I will be with my family forever! I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed for myself to know for myself if the contents are true. I can testify that I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is a book to be used along side the Bible, not replace it. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I have been to Carthage jail and felt the powerful spirit there. I know without a doubt that this is the true church. I am far from perfect but i know Jesus died for me. He paid the price for my sins. And if i spend my whole life doing the best i can even if i have to fail a thousand times, i will be saved by his grace and mercy.

How I live my faith

I was the leader of a group of young women ages 12-18 for 5 years. we planed and participated in community service and many personal growth projects. I go to church every Sunday and I look forward to it every week. My congregation is just another extension of my family. We are there for each other from the death of a loved one, to the birth of a new child. We go to each others music concerts and sporting events, because we truly care about each other. Not just on a spiritual level but as people. Now I am serving as a representative of Jesus Christ. I will serve for 18 months doing everything I can to help people. This church, His church, brings more happiness to me and my family than anything else in the world. I want to share that with the whole world! I have seen people change as we, the missionaries meet and teach people about what it means to be a Mormon. When I stop going to church, stop living my standards my life seems to become unbalanced. Being Mormon helps me stay focused on things that really matter. I volunteered to serve a mission. I am here not because I have to but because I want to. The experiences that I am currently having will help me for the rest of my life in so many ways. My faith will continue to be strengthened. I am learning how to get along with people. I have learned to love more. I am learning what it really means to work hard 16 hours a day 7 days a work. This work is hard but rewarding. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
