Hi I'm Scotty

I started a design company, manage a sales team, love to travel. I'm from Utah, but that's not why I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only boy in my family of six children. I love living in Utah, but want to travel the world. My preferred place of travel is anywhere tropical. I love cars. My first word was "Dodge." My grandparents collect antique and unique cars and their passion has carried on to me. I love interior design. I especially have a passion for furniture restoration. I love working with and talking to people. I have a degree in Psychology and manage a sales team. I look forward to getting married in the future and having a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always seen the benefit of living a Mormon lifestyle. I see people who live their life with high standards and although they are not perfect and their life is not perfect, it is a better way of living. I can clearly see happiness and peace. One of my favorite sayings is "God doesn't promise a calm sea, He promises a better boat." We build a better boat my living his teachings. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's restored Church to the Earth. I know through prayer that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and an instrument to bring back the truths that have been lost for so long. This is important because without His authority, we can't be sealed with our families to live together forever. I love my family so very much and want that more than anything else. I know God lives and that if we pray to him, he will answer our prayers and help us live a better life.

How I live my faith

I love my Savior Jesus Christ and want to become more like him. I want to love the way he loves, forgive the way he forgives and treat each person I meet with respect and appreciation for their uniqueness and life. I am willing to stand up for virtue and integrity with respect and patience for those who do not share my same beliefs. I believe that is the way Christ would do it. I had the incredible opportunity to share the gospel in Detroit, Michigan from 2000 - 2002. I met the most amazing people and loved every minute of my service there. I organize activities for members of my church congregation for those who are single and over the age of 25. They like me, are searching for something more in their life with confidence in God knowing that he guides and directs us for our own good. I love to have a good time so this assignment is perfect for me.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

We can only help others if we ourselves are prepared. I firmly believe in preparedness. Anything we can do to help mitigate pain and suffering and ensure safety and peace is not only smart, but essential to living a confident life. Show more Show less
