Hi I'm Alena!

I grew up in Hawaii. I'm an avid reader, student, runner - but most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my childhood in Hawaii running around barefoot, swimming, and hiking. Though shoes have become a larger part in my life today, I still love escaping into nature. I'm currently attending college, studying psychology and figuring out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'm passionate about music, good books, and delicious food.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and gained a witness from God's Spirit that it is true. From the same Spirit I have come to know for myself that God is my loving Heavenly Father, who exists and loves me more than I could ever imagine; that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God; that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and every prophet after him has been called of God, including President Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good person. I smile at random people I pass, help those I see in need, listen to my friends' concerns, and provide support and love for my family. I try to not judge others and to love without reservation. I follow the example of Jesus Christ in serving others. To live my faith, I do the small things. I remember to thank my Heavenly Father each day in prayer for everything He has given to me. I read my scriptures to learn more about Him, remember everything He has done for His children, and to feel of His Spirit. I follow the small impressions or feelings I receive from His Spirit. I attend church each Sunday and focus on the sacrament. I attend the temple and do family history work so that my ancestors can feel the same peace and love I do. Ultimately, I live my faith by trying to share God's love with all His children.
