Hi I'm Geneal D. Newman

I am very fortunate in that I grew up and lived all of my life in Utah. I am an adoptive mother. I love my family.

About Me

I have lived a very normal life. My husband and I adopted 2 children. When my children were in Jr. High, I decided that I did not like them being smarter than I was so I went to nursing school and became an office nurse for a family practice clinic. When I was 53, my eternal companion passed away from cancer. That was devastating but I was protected by the comforter. I re-married 2 years later, something that I never thought that I could do. We have made a wonderful life together. I now have 10 children and 28 grandchildren. I love being a wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoy sewing, gardening, all of the fun work that can be done in and around my home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents and grandparents were all Mormon. I did not have to have a great conversion because from the time I was a little girl, I knew that Jesus Christ was the son of God and that He loved me. I have always felt protected by the Priesthood power and by the Holy Ghost. My love of the Gospel has kept be from making serious mistakes. As all people seem to do, I have made mistakes and I have felt the comfort of true repentance. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am a daughter of God and that He hears and answers my prayers. I know that I am known by the Savior and that I knew Him before I came to earth. I want to always feel the strength of the knowledge that there is a reason for me to be here on earth at this time and if I will follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost I will be able to make a difference in the lives of my children, my extended family and all those that I might meet, especially those who want to know the truth. I pray that I have been able to share how I feel.

How I live my faith

I have always worked within my Church. I have loved working and teaching young children. They always seem to love anyone who will tell them stories and share love. My favorite experiences are probably when I taught and interacted with the youth groups in our Church. Young people have so much energy and I have had wonderful experiences teaching and working with them. Lately, I have worked with/for and taught ladies that are young mothers, many grandmothers and so on. We enjoy our weekly gatherings. I learn so much from others peoples experiences. My husband and I have taught family based lessons at the State Prison for the passed several years. We have taught in the men's section, but lately in the women's section. This has been such a choice experience. These people have lost everything. Most of them have lost their families, their homes and their dignity. We have tried to show them how to come back to Jesus Christ and to feel of the Lord's spirit. They want to work for a better life and we pray that those that we have taught will remember a little of what our lessons were about, but also have much we will miss them and how much we love them.
