Hi I'm Douglas Memmott

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. The Lord has blessed me with a testimony of this great work.

About Me

It took me awhile. I grew up in a railroad town in the high desert in Southern Utah. I went from a high school graduating class of 28 to Stanford University. Fortunately, I met good friends that helped me transform my previously unchallenged and partially unformed beliefs into a faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I then embarked on a journey of discovery. Over many years I learned of the infinite capacity of Heavenly Father and His Son to know and love me personally. My life has been continually and abundantly blessed by my membership in the Savior's church. The principles taught are true, and lead invariably to a sense of gratitude and and a feeling of happiness and peace. MY career has taken me from the practice of law to production of IMAX motion pictures and back to the practice of family law. In every instance, and particularly in my family I have found that in order to be successful, it is necessary to rely on the grace and enabling power of the Savior and the love and direction of Heavenly Father. I give thanks to that young boy, Joseph Smith, who was instrumental in the restoration of the Lord's church and to the present apostles and prophets who lead it under the Savior's direction. I can now, after many years, testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church, restored to the earth after centuries of darkness.

Why I am a Mormon

Truth is truth! I have evaluated other religions and philosophies, read the literature and attended meetings. Many have an element of truth. Some have much truth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints encompasses all truth that has been made known to man. The Lord, who is the repository of all truth has established his church again on the earth.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is not difficult. It would be incredibly difficult for me to live without it. I find that I need the Spirit in my life more now than ever. Staying connected to the source of all wisdom and love is just a practicality for me.
