Hi I'm Roy

I was born and raised in the Sacramento Valley of Central California. Now I live in Idaho with my family.

About Me

I live in a little town in eastern Idaho and love the people here. I moved my family from California over 10 years ago and have loved it here. I love to help in the community and serve as a volunteer firefighter. I was raised by two parents that taught me to always find a way to help others. I was blessed to serve a two-year mission in Ireland and have a love for the people there. My wife and I are the parents of four wonderful children. One of them is currently serving a mission in Oklahoma.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I did not fully grasp the truth of it until I was in my senior year of high school. I thought to myself, "You need to find out for yourself if this is true." I prayed and studied and read The Book of Mormon to get a testimony for myself. I had set a goal to read the book cover to cover and live my life by its teachings to see if it was true. In answer to my prayers, the Holy Ghost told me that it was a true book of scripture and the church was true. There have been ups and downs in my life since then, but when I look back at the downs, they are times when I have let myself wander from diligent prayer and study. When I put my faith into action is when the joy returns to my life. The church has helped me to be a better husband and father. The guidance from the Spirit has helped me to become a more loving person to family and my fellow man. I do not know where I would be without the gospel.

How I live my faith

I have a great love of faith and family; they are the two most important things in my life. I have found that these two loves are the foundation for happiness and peace. When I serve my family or my Brothers and Sisters in our church, it helps me to draw nearer to the Lord. When we give of ourselves, we receive true joy and happiness. It makes living in our hurry-up world much more fulfilling. I have worked with the youth in the scouting program on at least 4 different occasions. These have been some of the most gratifying times in my life, watching and helping young men learn to be men of worth.
