Hi I'm Kelsey

I'm a member of the Boy Scouts of America, I love learning, I'm a bit of a nut, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! I come from a fantastic family of nine. My parents are superheroes and my siblings are some of my best friends. I love being outdoors! Some of the things that I like doing outdoors is hiking, stargazing, photography, collecting leaves and other plants, and just enjoying the sunshine. I also love listening to music and reading. I enjoy fiction, Christian literature, some non-fiction, and the Book of Mormon and Holy Bible.

Why I am a Mormon

I've actually been a member my whole life; but my journey towards conversion started a couple years ago. I made some big mistakes when I was younger and it made me feel stuck and as a prophet in the Book of Mormon said "my soul was harrowed up to the greatest degree and racked with all my sins" (Alma 36:12). I began to study the gospel on my own more - I read a lot of the New Testament in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, went to Institute (Bible study is similar to it), and prayed a LOT. Gradually I began to learn more and more about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the ability to change that he offers to us. I realized that I needed to include him more in my daily life and that he could help me to resolve those mistakes. I turned to him through prayer and asking for his forgiveness and his help to help me change, scripture study, and church and let him help me to take that burden off of my shoulders. It was remarkable! I feel more peace than ever knowing that my sins are forgiven, that I can move on with my life, and I feel more of a desire to "go, and sin no more" and to help others know the same! "I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me... and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me." (Alma 36: 27). I testify to you that we can continually turn to him to help us through problems and mistakes throughout our lives and that he cares for each and every one of us!

How I live my faith

One of the things that I enjoy about my faith is how close I feel to Christ. I live my faith by striving to become like him in all things. It's quite the process, but I'm so thankful for the changing power of the Savior's grace. In order to become more like him I study from the Book of Mormon and the Bible and practice applying Christ's characteristics as I learn more. I also had the opportunity to serve a mission and go to Arkansas and teach people more of the beautiful truths that God restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I got to help others understand more of what the Book of Mormon is - another viewpoint of Christ's ministry and miracles. It's another beautiful witness of the Savior and God's love for all of his children.
