Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm a music student. I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student pursuing a bachelor's degree for teaching the piano. I hope to become the best teacher that I can possibly be, to inspire my students and dare them to make music. Music has an amazingly positive impact on peoples' lives and I want to share that uplifting power with as many people as I can! Besides music and the piano, I also love tennis (even though I'm not very good at it!) and riding my bike. I love spending time with my family - especially my awesome niece and nephews - who are the most important people in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for my entire life. At first, it was simply what I was supposed to do and what my family did. As I have grown and matured, however, I have had to confront the teachings of the Church for myself. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know for myself whether the contents were true, if Joseph Smith were really a prophet of God, and if the teachings I had grown up learning were the way that God, my Heavenly Father, wanted me to live. The answer came to me with a warm, calm feeling that I know without a doubt meant that yes, it is true. I cannot deny this answer that calmed my troubled heart. Nothing has brought my life more happiness and meaning than the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and feel great fulfillment and peace in following His example by living His gospel. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. I work hard to keep all of God's commandments and strive to love God and my neighbors invariably. I continually look for opportunities to serve those around me and to become the person I know God wants me to become. I serve my neighbors by visiting with and teaching them, and seeking ways to help them with whatever their struggles and challenges may be. There are also many opportunities to live my faith through music. I assist with the choir at church as an accompanist and singer. Using the piano, I am able to aid and magnify the messages given during weekly church meetings. In the coming months and years I will also live my faith by leaving my home for two years to serve and minister to the people living in the San Antonio, Texas area. I strive to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ, every day.
