Hi I'm David L.

I have grown up in Clovis, California. I have chosen to serve a two-year mission. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am finishing my fourth year of high school. I turn 19 years old in October. I am very active and enjoy playing all sports. I competitively play water polo and am also on the swim team. My free time is spent either sleeping, eating, or watching the newest movie on Netflix. I plan on going on a mission sometime near my 19th birthday. when i return, i hope to be able to attend BYU. I enjoy spending time with my friends and being outdoors. I am the 5th out of 7 kids in my family. Three of my older siblings are married and I have a niece and a nephew. Being in a large family has taught me that family is so important and essential. i have been a member of the church for my whole life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and when I was young, I didn't really understand what I was learning or what other religions were out there. I do know that, as a child, I had fun and loved my friends. As I got into my teens I started to learn the doctrine and begin to understand what my parents have been preaching to me for 12 years. I began to feel the spirit and grow my testimony. Like anyone else, I struggled at first and made mistakes. Being 18 and about to leave for a mission, I have been able to develop a relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ, gain a knowledge of the prophet Joseph Smith, know the truth of the Book of Mormon, and understand that there is a plan for me and God wants me to be happy. I know these things because I have prayed and received a confirmation through the spirit that it is true.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had callings as a youth to lead my peers. I strive to keep the commandments and live by the standards of my church. I am proud of what I believe and I am always learning something new. I will always back up what I believe and those who believe the same. I don't think that the standards i live by keep me from having "fun" but help guide me on a path to eternal happiness. I love being able to teach those around me about what I believe. I love being able to communicate with God and feel the spirit when I am alone and at my church meetings.
