Hi I'm Makinzie

I grew up in Utah. I love to sing, play guitar, and dance. I'm a Mormon missionary serving in the Denver, Colorado area.

About Me

I am a Mormon missionary! When I finish my mission I will go back to being a college student who loves life and being with friends. I love to sing, dance, and play guitar. I love music so much! I also love to play softball and soccer and to be outside enjoying the sunshine. I grew up on a farm raising cows and pigs and fixing fence- a lot of it. I love to be happy and laugh, and my love of life comes from knowing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It blesses me, gives me hope, and gives me purpose and direction in my life. Life can be hard, but it is beautiful and I try to enjoy every day I have! I know that everything happens for a reason, and that God is watching out for us and wants us to be happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints makes me SO happy! Through it, I have the Gospel of Jesus Christ that gives me so much hope because of the Atonement. I know that the Savior Jesus Christ lives and loves me. He is always standing there with his arms outstretched, ready to cleanse me from sins, heal my pain, and strengthen me to help me become what He knows I can be. The Gospel is centered around having eternal families, and that is so important to me. The Gospel teaches us the things to do in this life to have joy now, and forever. I know because of the Savior, Jesus Christ, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven in never-ending happiness. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and goes hand-in-hand with the Bible to teach us about Jesus Christ. I know God speaks through modern-day prophets and that He leads and directs this church through the prophets and apostles. My testimony is simply that this Church is Jesus Christ's true church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the Denver Colorado area! I live my faith by letting my beliefs change my life. Because I believe whole heartedly in Jesus Christ as my Savior, I live my life trying to follow Him, and do what He would want me to do. My faith gives me hope of living with my family forever (so I try to treat em right) and also gives me the assurance that I will see God again! My faith simply makes me happy.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Makinzie
The church celebrates women by teaching us that we are beloved daughters of God. Women have different roles than men, different but equal in importance. The Relief Society program in the church teaches women how to be self-sufficient and strong, as well as how to be kind and nurturing. I don't think women should act like men because we have the beautiful gift of being women. God has given us certain strengths that we should utilize, and weaknesses to imrpove upon. The Church teaches me about my important role as a woman in God's plan and gives me purpose and direction in my life. Show more Show less
