Hi I'm Jessica Wright-Carruthers

My name is Jessica. I love pistachios, my family and being converted. I am in the Utah, Salt Lake City Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm pretty much the average run-of-the-mill, ho-hum 20 year old from England. I'm a big fan of my wonderful two sisters, three brothers- they make live very entertaining and keep me on my toes, parents, and stunning family that make life top notch. I'm usually found reading, listening to music (only when I'm breathing mind you), trying to play the piano and violin and eating cereal (Cinnamon Grahams and Berry Granola, thank you). After High School I went to college and studied Graphic Design. When I graduated, I went to America for a few months to live as a Nanny for a military family. When I came home I worked at one of the many fine universities in England saving up for my mission...and now I am here. I think that about catches you up.

Why I am a Mormon

Life took an interesting turn not too long ago and I had to find out for myself if there was a loving Heavenly Father, because at the time I honestly wasn't certain. My attention was drawn to a passage of scripture in Matthew chapter 14 where the apostle Peter was walking on the water. Like Peter, I felt like I was struggling to stay afloat, but comforted at how quickly Jesus Christ came to help when the words "Lord, save me" were cried. I spent a lot of time on my knees praying that I would be able to access Christ's comfort through the Atonement. These circumstances are what eventually lead me to serve a mission and I became truly converted when I started serving as a full-time missionary at the age of 19. I now know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I like knowing that whatever happens to me or to my family we are part of his plan for our happiness. Whatever we go through he is mindful of us and our situations. Family is such a focus in the church and I am grateful for this. I always know that they will be there for me, reminding me who I am and helping me strive for the person I can become...and I know through Heavenly Father's plan we can one day be together for eternity. I know the commitments I make and keep with Heavenly Father makes me a better person...So why wouldn't I be a Mormon?

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in all aspects of my life. I will always try to be the best person I can be. Jesus Christ is my Saviour and I try to be worthy of having His help and influence in my life. But mainly I guess right now I live my faith my teaching it to the wonderful inhabitants of Utah. 3Nephi 5:13
