Hi I'm Patti

I've always been interested in history, and especially how my family was affected by historical events. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My mother's ancestors came from England and Wales, and this part of the world became very interesting to me in my teenage years and into adulthood. I wanted to know more about my ancestors, their roles in society, and how historical events shaped their destiny. It's been fascinating to research my own ancestry, and I recently returned to college to get a degree in genealogy and family history so I can help others with their genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith keeps me grounded and provides a firm foundation for how I want to live my life. I want my ancestors who came before me and my descendants who will live after me to know that we all have a place in God's plan of salvation.

How I live my faith

One day a week I volunteer at the BYU Family History Library to help patrons who are researching their families. As our ward Family History Consultant, I hope to ignite an interest in family history among the youth and adults in our congregation. When someone finds a new ancestor for their family tree or learns something new about a great-grandparent, it is very rewarding to see the hearts of the children turning to their fathers.
