Hi I'm Tanner Merrill

I'm a patriot. I like fast cars. I'm a future US Navy SEAL. I'm a missionary in Scotland. I'm Tanner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im from Utah, I enjoy sports such as tennis and wrestling. I am an Eagle Scout, and have attended university and major International Business and Political Science. I'm currently serving a 2 year voluntary mission to Scotland/Ireland. My interests are centred on my great country and I intend to, after my mission, serve in the United States military. I live at the base of the great Rocky Mountain Range and enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, boating and snow skiing. My friends are my family, and said family is the most important thing in my life. I am a patriot and hope to spend my life in the service of God and my country.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted and raised by a family that are and were members of the church, and I was blessed to have the spirit in my home and learned to recognize it early on. Although I was raised in the church, it was always important to me to know things independently, or for myself . Through experiences that have tried me, I have learned that the Lord is at my side, and have been able to join the millions of people who have a doubtless knowledge of surety that Christ's primitive church has been restored, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that church. I know this church is true and I am so grateful for the Gospel, and the knowledge it brings, in my life. The happiness I have found through my faith is eternal, and this comes from the knowledge that God loves me and I am his son, and as is told us in Doctrine and Covenants section 4, if ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work. I know that the cause of Christianity, and the cause of establishing and defending the inalienable rights and freedom of all men is the most just and right cause above all in the sight of God. I know this, and it has become my strongest desire is to live in the presence of God once again, with every member of God's family there with me.

How I live my faith

At home I attended church weekly with my family and had different callings to support and sustain other members in my area. I enjoy serving people in my ward and spending time with friends in family in settings where the spirit is present. Growing up I participated in countless church related activities, and boy scouts, where I learned leadership and hard work from the example of my leaders. I hope that someday I can be a scout or youth leader in my church and be the same sort of positive example of leadership that I had in my youth. I live my faith through service.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

There are many ways to get in contact with members of the church. You could visit a local church in your area on Sunday mornings, or visit church sponsored websites such as LDS.org and Mormon.org, where you can learn about the church or request visits from missionaries (full-time representatives of the church).
