Hi I'm Leisl Roberts

I am the oldest and only girl! Finding joy in my journey...I'm 19 and going on a mission to Melbourne Australia! I'm a mormon!

About Me

I love to exercise! Specifically, I love to run, dance, hike and swim. My passions in life include music, I love playing the flute, piano, and singing, and I absolutely love art! My greatest source of happiness lies in living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Serving others brings me great joy and draws me closer to God. I love spending time with family and friends. After I return home from serving an LDS mission, I want to study to become a dental hygeinist. It's a flexible job that will not interfere with want to be first and foremost, a mother! My goals are to marry in the Salt Lake temple for time and eternity, raise a family dedicated to the Lord, and return to live with my loving Heavenly Father again someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I know my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, lives. I know He helps me make my weaknesses strengths. I know if I trust Him, He will make more out of me than I can of myself. I know if I do what He asks, I will be found at His right hand at the last day, when all God's children are resurrected, or joined in body and spirit, and receive my kingdom. "As man is, God once was, as God is, man can become". Through the grace of God, faith, and good works, we will receive everlasting life, which is the greatest of God's gifts to man. The Savior overcame the world, as I humble myself and pray to HIm for guidance, he will help me overcome all things. "Ask and ye shall recieve, knock and it shall be opened unto you.

How I live my faith

Everday it is a privilige to "feast upon the word", in other words, read my scriptures. The Book of Mormon, another testament of Christ in addition to the Bible, was translated by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith. The scriptures were written for us in our day. I read this precious book everyday. I cannot afford to miss out on the blessings of divine guidance and peace in my life. "By small and simple things, great things come to pass", my small efforts of reading and praying everyday help me develop a stonger relationship with God and my brothers and sisters in this life. Dedicating time daily to be in the presence of God for at least thirty minutes, reading my scriptures, invites the companionship of the Lord's Spirit, the Holy Ghost. He is the third member of the Godhead. As I enjoy the companionship of the Spirit I am blessed with love, peace, and incomprehensible joy in my life. I know the Lord wants me to be happy so He gives me commandments to follow. God loves me and will help me make right choices. I know the gospel blesses families. I lost a member of my family due to a disgruntled employee who shot my mom's husband. I know I will see Joe again because of the marvelous plan of Salvation, of Happiness, our Heavenly Father designed for us so that we can see our loved ones again. Families can be together forever through Heavenly Father's plan.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Leisl Roberts
When I was 10 years old my stepfather was murdered by a disgruntled employee. My mom delievered their baby, Trevor, nine days later. It was a devastating event, however, our family has never before felt a stronger assurance of the plan our loving Heavenly Father has for His children. Through God's plan, families can be together forever. I know I will see Joe again! I had hope and prayed my mom would find another spouse again. After eight years, she met Clark! I love him! They are expecting a baby! I can't wait to see my loved ones again, and I know Heavenly Father knows what's best for us. Even if my mom didn't ever remarry that would be the Lord's will and we would accept it. Keeping His commandments and trusting Him gives us strength to overcome family challenges. I know I will have the opportunity to cherish my family members forever. Even those who have not been baptized at age eight will have the opportunity to learn the gospel. "Every soul is great in the sight of God". All will know Him. I love my Savior He helps me be happy and have peace in this life as I have faith in Christ, repent, renew baptisimal covenants each week (make a promise to keep HIs commandments and have His Spirit with me), and endure to the end, I will receive the greatest of God's gifts, eteral life. God loves us and weeps when we are mourning and rejoices when we are happy. He shows us the way back home to Him. Learn more at lds.org. Show more Show less
